Weather-resistant exterior coatings that protect your home from the New Zealand climate, maintain kerb appeal, and reduce long-term maintenance costs.
Your home’s exterior is its first line of defence against the New Zealand climate. Auckland’s humidity, coastal salt air, and UV exposure create demanding conditions for exterior coatings. An exterior paint job that looks good on day one but fails within three years is not a good result. ST Coatings specifies
exterior coating systems for longevity, not just appearance.
We have been painting exterior homes across Auckland and Northland for more than 40 years. In that time, we have learned which products perform on which substrates, how to prepare different cladding types correctly, and how to deliver a finish that lasts in New Zealand conditions.
Our exterior painting process starts with thorough surface preparation. This means washing the existing surface, treating any mould or mildew, sanding rough areas, filling cracks and holes, and applying the correct primer system before any topcoat is applied. Preparation is the work that determines how long the result lasts, and we do not skip it.
We paint weatherboard, fibrous cement, masonry, Linea board, plaster, and most other residential cladding types. We can also paint trims, fascia boards, window frames, and other exterior elements as part of a full exterior repaint or as a standalone service.
All exterior paint systems are selected to suit the specific substrate and exposure conditions of your home. Coastal properties require different products than sheltered inland locations. We advise on this at quoting stage.

We assess the condition of exterior surfaces, identify repairs, and recommend the most suitable coating system.
Exterior surfaces are thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, mould, mildew, and contaminants that can affect paint adhesion.
Cracks, peeling paint, damaged timber, and surface imperfections are repaired and prepared before painting begins.
Premium primers and topcoats are professionally applied to provide protection, durability, and a consistent finish.
A detailed inspection ensures all work meets our quality standards and your expectations.
Selecting the right exterior coating system is critical to achieving a durable finish. We choose products based on your home’s cladding type, environmental exposure, and performance requirements.
Our premium coating systems are specifically designed to withstand New Zealand’s conditions while maintaining colour vibrancy and surface protection for years to come.
ST Coatings operates across Auckland and Northland. Our teams cover the full Auckland region — North Shore, West, East, Central, and South — as well as Northland locations including Whangarei, Kerikeri, and Paihia.
Most New Zealand homes require exterior repainting every 8-12 years, depending on cladding type, product quality, and exposure to the elements. Coastal homes may require more frequent repainting.
We wash the exterior, treat mould, sand rough areas, fill cracks and holes, and apply the correct primer before any topcoat.
Preparation is included in every exterior painting job.
We can work through most of the Auckland winter. We monitor conditions and will not apply paint in rain or when temperatures or humidity fall outside the product application specification.
