Roof coatings that extend lifespan, improve appearance, and reduce maintenance costs. Applied to specification by certified professionals.
A well-maintained roof is one of the most cost-effective investments a homeowner or property manager can make. Roof painting extends the life of your existing roof, restores its appearance, and — with the right coating system — can significantly reduce heat absorption and improve the thermal performance of your building.
ST Coatings has been painting roofs across Auckland and Northland for over 40 years. We work on iron, steel, concrete tile, and butynol roofs, specifying the correct coating system for each roof type and applying it with the preparation and precision that ensures it lasts.
Our roof painting process begins with a thorough wash-down and inspection. We clean moss, lichen, and debris, treat any rusting or surface corrosion on iron or steel roofs, apply the correct primer, and finish with a quality topcoat system specified for the roof type. We do not cut corners on preparation because roof coatings applied over unprepared surfaces fail early.
For iron and steel roofs, we use rust-inhibiting primer systems before topcoat application. For concrete tile roofs, we apply penetrating sealers and appropriate tile paint. For butynol and membrane roofs, we use compatible coating systems designed to restore and extend the membrane rather than trap moisture beneath a non-breathable coating.
All roof painting work is quoted following an on-site inspection. Roof condition, pitch, access requirements, and area all affect the pricing. We do not quote roof painting over the phone or from
photos.

A well-prepared and correctly specified roof coating typically lasts 10-15 years on iron and steel roofs and 8-12 years on concrete tile roofs. Longevity depends heavily on surface preparation and product quality.
